EveryHeartPhotography, House Finches, Matthew 10:28-33

Of More Value Than Many Sparrows

As I went past the window, a movement caught my eye. I paused, curious to know what it was. There, perched on the roof was a male house finch. His glossy, ruby colored head and speckled markings were stunning against the light turquoise sky. Moments after letting out a chirp or two, he flitted off.

Flipping through at least one or two decent shots of this jovial, little creature on my camera, I was content. After he returned with his mate, however, I was thankful for the opportunity to capture some more. The two love-birds blinked uncertainly at my lens as their feathers ruffled in the sweeping March winds.

DelightinginHim Blog- Of More Value Than Many Sparrows

I was mesmerized. Such tiny birds with such intricate details. Their life does not pass unnoticed in the eyes of God. Not one falls to the ground without Him knowing. And our life?–is of more value than many sparrows

“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.”

Matthew 10:28-33 {emphasis mine}
