That day in the mountains was cool, clean. Mist hung like a gentle veil in the trees, over a flowing stream. This scene illustrates and captures something of my Shepherd.
He leads me to the still, quiet waters–waters of rest.
He leads me to a place where I lack nothing.
He restores my longing soul–causing me to be healed and satisfied by His steadfast love.
He leads me on the right path–the path of righteousness–for His name’s sake.
He protects and comforts with His rod and staff.
His presence melts every fear of evil or death.
He prepares a bounty, a table for me before my enemies.
He anoints my head with oil.
He causes my cup to run over.
His goodness and mercy are sure all of my days.
I will dwell in His house forever.
This, this is where my Shepherd leads me.
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. -Psalm 23 via
